This week 4WD have been putting their maths knowledge into practice and exploring various different aspects of maths.
First, we looked at how many squares you can find on a chessboard. The answer is much greater than some might think! A systematic approach and strong sense of what a square is key!

Over the next two days, we collected, presented and interpreted data about our class using human pictograms and then drawing our own bar charts.

To finish off our Maths Week celebrations, we had a go at creating polygons within polygons and seeing what shapes could be made. Why not have a go yourself? Draw a polygon, draw a dot halfway along each side and then join the dots to create a new polygon.
